My God in Whom I Trust

Psalm 91:2
“I will say to the LORD, 'My refuge and my fortress, My God in whom I trust!'”

God loves His refugees.

Our great nation is not what it once was and though I am still proud of being an American, I am troubled by the seismic tremors of change. Not all change is good and what we are seeing in our current leadership is wrong on many levels. In whom may we take solace for political redress? Though there are some who cry out within our government, their voices are not being heard and even though many are rising up to protest, yet they may ultimately be ignored. Those with faith are standing in a lonely place and we do not yet see on our horizon the dim silhouette of a leader riding to our rescue. These are frightening times in our nation's history and those who fear God seem to be in a vulnerable place. The temptation is to feel helpless and hopeless. To feel just like a refugee. Many say, “Organize” but that would be trusting in men and there are many strong organizations who oppose God. God says “Trust in Me!” and this is our test. So many issues and concerns flooding our hearts that our souls begin to slip. Like a soul holding on in surging flood waters, even so we must hold fast to the Hand of rescue and never let go. We must seek His refuge in this heat of the battle. Our God has not sounded retreat but He has called us to His fortifications. He has called us to a place where we are sustained by His strength and wisdom. The battle rages outside and some will fall but those who take refuge will be made stronger for the coming victory. Now is the time for us to fully acknowledge His fortifications. See how strong He has made His Kingdom! The traces of past conflicts have seared the facade but no crack or weakness is to be found in His walls. No displacement of His foundation has been accomplished though our enemy has tried long and pressed fervently upon it. Let us take unto ourselves the strength of His surrounding truth and the resilience of His constant presence and leadership. There is no question who will win the battle. Our challenge is to be found among those victoriously declaring, “My God in Whom I Trust!”

Our Prayer:

LORD,
I am fearful in the midst of strife,
My heart is faint from evil's might,
Yet I trust You to save my life
And set my soul in victory's light!
In Jesus' victorious name I pray
Amen.

Follow God's direction
There is no hope in defection.

The Shelter of the Most High

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High

Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” (NASB)


I long to dwell in His shelter but how?

Our God must have a wondrous house filled with eternal things that shine with an unwavering glory. His tapestries must be woven with pure and unbreakable threads of purpose and perfect justice masterfully intertwined with a richness of mercy and loving-kindness as only He may possibly weave them. The walls must be bright and strong to withstand those who would cause havoc and destruction. Those who would extinguish its illumination and bring nothing but darkness. It must be a place where no one breaks in or steals. (Mt. 6:19-21) Every room in His house richer and more splendid than the most luxuriantly appointed mansion. Their glistening beauty beyond human imagination to conceive and ingenuity to build.
Everyone who dwells in His shelter will have such a place not because they have selfishly built this for themselves but because our Father wishes more than anything else to give such a home to His children. (John 14:1-3; Eph. 3:20-21)


Our prayer:

“LORD, not in any house we have made

with timber, brick or stone,

but in Your house and in Your shade

where we will truly be at home

may we ever abide,

In Christ' precious name. Amen”

One has to read carefully the words or listen careful to those spoken if one seeks to understand the true meaning of what another says or writes. To understand the person you have to think about how the eye sees. As I was told once the eye when looking at a picture acts much like a TV screen which, zigs and zags across and down the screen and presto the picture appears. One cannot see it as it happens because of the speed. A similar feat is accomplished by the eye when viewing an object it zips around the objects outline then returns to fill in the body. Amazing! Often we read the words one writes and we may agree or disagree with them at the time, or have no opinion one way or the other. But later after the mind as whirled and twirled those thoughts around another understanding may occur. At least I hope it does. because that it when you get the true meaning of what another has said.
Some often use words that have a different meaning to you than they do to the person writing or speaking. These are used sometimes to make you think about what a person is saying, to draw you into their arena. But sometimes to disguise what they really think and let you believe that they agree with you when they don't or vice-verse.

Why "The Habiru Voice"?

One might wonder why "THE HABIRU VOICE" was chosen for this blog. Simply put as I was reading a book on understand the Old Testament and I ran across this term. The author describes it as a term used to define those in the near east who were not a part of the established nation among whom they lived. He described them as "wanders" and "outsiders" of the social order. While I am a member of this nation, this social order, (at least I think I am although some may disagree) I sometimes feel as though I'm not. I some times have the feeling that I am on the outside of the social order looking in. There are those whom we place on the outside of social order, the "homeless" "the extreme right" " the extreme left". depending on you view and many others that one could name but we all are aware of. Any how I found the name tagging at my thoughts and I had wanted to start a blog so I said "Why Not it as good a title as any!
